We are currently seeking a Global Trade Compliance Analyst to join our Houston-based legal team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with international trade laws while maintaining our trusted relationships with customs authorities and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply U.S. export regulations (including those related to GPUs, HBMs, encryption, classification, licensing, and FDP), sanctions, and import laws to ensure compliance.
- Research and verify ECCNs, HTSUS, and Schedule B codes, particularly for semiconductors and electronic components.
- Conduct KYC due diligence, including denied party screenings and end-use verifications.
- Identify and escalate compliance red flags to management.
- Support and audit AES filings and export documentation to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Review and propose corrective actions to maintain compliance and deliver annual International Trade Compliance training.
- Assist with trade compliance investigations, including drafting disclosures and submissions to the U.S. government.
- Stay up to date with evolving international trade laws and communicate relevant updates within the organization.
- Work alongside the export licensing and quality control teams to ensure data accuracy within the CRM regarding export regulations (EAR, ITAR, ECCN, HTSUS, sanctions, and tariffs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. export compliance policies and regulations.
- Experience with U.S. import/export laws, including EAR, ITAR, sanctions, and embargoes.
- Knowledge of USA and EU and import/export regulations is a plus.
- Ability to interpret regulations and implement compliance strategies to support global sales operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and training skills to educate teams on compliance matters.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in export/import compliance, particularly in the high-tech industry.
- Experience with USA and EU import/export regulations is a plus.
